good luck. Junkyyard is my vote. They aren't up there too often. Please post where and how much yours is though, I want one soon.

Are the bellhousing bolt patterns the same betwen the 7.3l and the 6.Ohno?

I imagine that that would be the only big concern...certainly, an earlier gearbox will be easier to find. But, "easier" and "easy" are two different words...not to mention getting it mounted.

I wish I could have done a ZF6...the extra gear would be nice, and I like the idea of having Reverse and 1st right across from each other. Too much fabrication, though...and way too much $$...and my ZF5 does a pretty good job :cool

I've seen em in Auto trade in this area. Rebuild at a pretty reasonably price.
Just a thought.

I think you can get one for about 500 at a local yard, or 150 in that shape. I have not priced them though....

I'd be hard pressed to get a 5 speed for that, 1k seems a bit high, but not that high, $500 would be a bargan, even in this condition.

I think I'm gonna bite it and just spend the $$$, I found a general overhaul kit for $400 and syncros for another $400, but might need nothing , so I'll see... I cant find a rebuilt for less than $2000 + $1000 core :(
