I just bought this engine and i don't know what type of turbo system it is. I don't see any brand name but on the turbo. It is an AiResearch (garrett) model T04. I want to know because it is missing the y splitter at ththee back as well as the top part of the airbox. Any suggestions on what to do if these pieces can't be located?

I think that's the ats 085 model turbo. but not 100% sure on that. The airbox looks one. Intake hat kinda looks ats to me also.

Yup. ATS 085.

It can be confusing sometimes because the 085 airbox fits the 088. My 088 came with the 085 airbox and I've seen other canadian idi's similarly equipped.

You can tell them apart because the 085 does not have a proprietary exhaust side on the turbo. I think the main reason for the revision was to make installation easier on the 088.

I had a 088 before that's why I had to go off airbox and intake hat because I haven't seen a 085s piping set up before but I could spot a 088 a mile away lol

Intake hat and box are definitely ATS but are we sure the turbo and exhaust is? Did at s kits have garrett turbos?

Definitely the 085 setup:

Note the oval shaped profile in the casting of the upper downpipe. No other turbo kit has that. You can also see the other brackets and peripherals.

Here's the 088 for reference:

Welcome to the forum. Looks like you have most of the turbo. Might check on ebay for the missing filter box parts.

Interesting, as my 088 has the 085 airbox as well. I wasn’t sure if someone had scrounged up junkyard parts or if it was an early crossover kit as if ATS was trying to get the shelf clear of old parts. Also made for quite the scavenger hunt locating the Porsche 911 filter it uses from any of the parts stores.
