What specialty tools do I need for 2 cycle detroits?

My old grader has a 4-71 Detroit, and I'd like to get tooled up to work on it. What specialty tools do I need, besides the Detroit manual?

Yep, Wayne-O's got a great channel. I can't think of anything real special that he regularly uses besides a vise grip and hammer. Make sure you have a bridge gage to measure liner protrusion - especially if you are planning on putting some power kits into it.

Some lever that replaces the vicegrip to twist the rack....

I am not familiar with 4-73 but have had a 1959 John Deere ICD 440 with 2-53 for many years and had the injectors rebuilt at a local injector shop.

When reinstalling injectors I used "Injector Timing Gage" as described in the JD / Detroit 2-53 shop manual.

They are shown as the first item in your post #6 above.
