Water separator?

Was that the only filter on it? Just curious because the brown lettering shows that it is a 2 micron filter, which is small for a primary filter on a 2 filter setup.

I can't remember for sure whether or not it had the main fuel filter, but I think it did. I didn't take any pics if it. Maybe they had a really nasty tank and seriously wanted to protect the lift pump.

The bowl is where water collects due to gravity. Heat is often applied to help the separation.

Primary is typically a coarse filter (i.e. 30 mircon) w/water separator. It should get rid of most contaminants. Secondary is a finer media. You have pump pressure working for you in getting the last bit of crap out, and it protects your injection pump in case the lift pump scatters.
