Yes you can adjust it, you do it in order to get more boost with less trottle. If you do it you may have to look at your egt's closer.

The guys with waste gate will answer more/better I have a HY pulse turbo.

Hey Chris you shorten your wastegate rod to raise your boost. You need to fill out a signature with your truck info so we know what you got if its a factory turbo or banks hyper max that will help us give you info that is related to your truck /turbo system

Chris,

I have a Banks system & I shortened my rod all the way. Went from 9psi max boost to 11.5 psi max. Just makes more power. Need to know wnat you have though.

I hope you have a pyro and boost gauge on that truck! If that wastegate never opens, I'd hate to see the destruction under heavy throttle and way too much boost. I also hope you're not running stock DP and exhaust.

Bringing back a dead post. I was wondering if I could shorten my wastegate actuater on my ATS, and get more power? I have a pyro but not a boost gauge. Is it worth it to tighten it up?

It looks like I can shorten it up almost 1/2" intell I run out of threads. So is it worth it?

Install a boost gauge before fooling with anything. The wastegate is not there to limit your fun, it's there to protect the engine. I've even heard of people wiring their wastegates closed..... That's fine until you are pulling a hill loaded and the boost exceeds what the motor can handle and ******.

I may be really off here but, if you don't want the wastegate to work at all just unplug the pressure hose to the diapharm can.

I can unplug mine and block off the line and get 13 pounds of boost, I prefer to save my engine and don't run it like this but, wanted to see what it could do without the gate.

Isn't anything above 8 PSI a waste of air, unless you like changing head gaskets.

if you increase the boost WITHOUT turning up the fuel, will that raise the EGT's? i mean boost is a great thing but without the fuel to burn, can it change the fuel mix?

more boost could raise EGT's but not cause of a lean condition a diesel is nothing like a gas motor very simply a diesel burns as much air as it can get all the time more fuel makes it run faster less fuel it slows down that sit now how more boost couldraise EGT's is cause compressing air builds heat so to raise boost preasure you have to compress more air which builds more heat and there is no magic number at which you have enough boost but if you have black smoke billowing out you need more air no smoke means you have enough air to burn all the fuel you have
