Wastegate or non wastegated part II

Ok so i see how a non wastegated turbo acts in different situations. How does a wastegated act in those situations.

Just trying to make comparisons.

one more thing. If the non gated is a great turbo what was the reason for manufacturers switch to the gated style. More power, less emissions, ???

More seat of the pants becuase they spool faster off the line. Peak for peak, either version can damage head gaskets if you set them for more power. Emissions are also better on wastegated for more aggresive driving style.

Does anyone know if you can swap a wastegated banks turbo onto a non wastegated banks turbo setup?

I really am just looking to make sure the the up pipe and down pipe configuration bolts up, adapting a turbo stand I can do myself
