Alright, so I have this new to me 1984 300D, W123 chassis and have many questions. If anybody can answer or direct me it would be greatly appreciated.
The odometer does not work. I understand there is a plastic gear that fails.
The blower motor has a mind of its own. The PO replaced the vacuum lines under the hood and behind the dash. When the motor runs, it does direct air to the proper selection. There is no rhyme or reason to when the motor works or quits.
There is a clunk in the power train – sometimes when accelerating, sometimes when decelerating. I got off the go pedal and the clunk was very loud last night. I am not sure if it is the tranny (auto) or back further. Reminds me of a u-joint noise.
The rear driver side window motor blows the fuse when ever it is used. Bad motor or short??
The bumper rub strips are coming off. Looks like it has a tab / slot fastening deal. Is there an easy way to get them (front and rear) re-attached?
