Well it's time for new u-joints in the rear shaft. Picked some up today but they are the wrong size...I thought a F350 crew cab 4x4 would work but I'm wrong. truck is a 92 diesel 4x4 CC long box. It has a divorced transfer case so I'm guessing that's why I have the wrong U Joint..any help at all?

yours smells like a custom setup. best to pull off what you have and bring it in to the parts house to match up. these trucks never had a divorced transfer case.

I had the same problem with mine and its all factory. I ended up having to take the old one into the part store and have them match it up.

There is only two types of u-joints for your trucks... The right one and the wrong one.... Sorry... I couldn't resist....:D When I replace mein I take the complete shaft to my favorite drive line specialty shop that I have used for over 25 years. they do the job I can't do.... Plus they rebalance everything...;Sweet

At what yoke? Are they too big or too small? Are they too small of a cap or too big, Too short of a cross?
My U-joint catalogs are very far away so I can't look them up but my 3 rears are all 1350's = 1-3/16'' caps with a 3-5/8" cross. The only other difference is if they are inside or outside lock-up. The next size up is a 1410 series = 1-3/16'' caps w/ 4-3/16'' crosses. The next size down is a 1330 = 1-1/16" x 3-5/8"
Try a Google for Neapco. They have an online catalog. That's the brand AZ used to sell.
Napa used to sell Precision brand and they have conversion joints if somebody did something odd to your driveline.
Also.. Check the straps. They are the weak link.
ICANFIXALL... Stop Yokeing around, You'll get thrown out of the Joint...

simply amazing hahahah

I took the joint back in, the measured it and got it for me. It's all back together and no more HORRRRIBLE noise. Never heard a u-joint make that noise. 3 cups still were greased the fourth was just powder...good bye needle bearings! Tomorrow I will be posting pics of my front end and see if anyone can tell me what it's out of. Tie rods will be soon and this definitely isn't a 92 350 set up. Really appreciate the help guys.

My truck isn't 4X4, but of the three u-joints, 2 are one size and 1 is different. I think the one on the rear end is different (smaller caps).

I assumed mine were 1350s.... I temporarily got some 1410/1350 conversion joints for my current project only to realize that apparently my truck has "1350-F" joints... ford decided they needed a special joint that is the same size but has a slightly smaller cap diameter than a regular 1350 joint.
