Truck wont turn over HELP

Alright guys I am up chit creek right now. I was supposed to leave a half hour ago, and when I went to start my truck....nothing.

Earlier this week I had sort of a glitch, went to start it, pushed the clutch in, nothing. I let the clutch out, pushed it in as far as it would go, and it turned over that time.

Tried that this morning, pushing the clutch in numerous times with the key in the turn over position, nothing. For 5 mintues I did that, nothing.

I looked under it, and saw a white plastic piece that went inside of a box looking deal, attached to the clutch peddle. I noticed two black wires coming out, and figured if I cut and stripped them and put them together it would be sending a signal that the clutch was in. Well I did it....and nothing.

Whats the dealio and did I just screw myself over by cutting those wires?

I just went and looked at mine, and the plug has two red wires. I would assume that attaching them would let you start the truck, but if you have cruise control, it might affect the operation.

Do you have all other in-cab power except for actually cranking?

Like he said, do you have other power in the truck? If its just the clutch safety switch you can bypass that an crank it under the hoot with a big screwdriver. Not good for long term, but it till get you started. Just don't stall it in traffic....

If you have complete electrical failure, this connector could be your problem. If there is any sign of corrosion or melting of the connector, it will have to be bypassed. Its located close to the alternator regulator on the passenger sided inner wheel well.

Sorry to leave you hanging guys . I ended up unloade all of the wood in my truck into my dads and took that.

Truck has power, no doubt about that. Just I push the peddle in, and switch the key and nothing.

So looking at the clutch peddle, I saw a sensor looking device up under the dash, had 2 black wires coming out of it with like a heat sheath over them. I figured that would have been it and jumped the gun and cut and stipped them, and still nothing.

I will have to go and figure out how to get under the hood first....hood release knob is broke

Can you grab what is left of the cable with some vicegrips?

Yeah, if your not careful, your truck will file suit against you for negligence!

Come on you guys. Maybe I should take a picture of it. No there is nothing I can get ahold of to let me release it, it busted that tack weld smooth....so there is nothing I can get ahold of in there.

My truck doesnt like me to be honest, she has been throwing hissy fits with me lately. She is starting to smoke a color she shouldnt be smoking....calm before the storm I suppose.

Well, you upset her by not keeping up and now she's just expressing herself.

Is there any way that you could hook what is left of the cable and pull it out from in-between the hood and the grill support and then go after it with the pliers?

I might have to come up there on behalf of Truck Protective Services and seize your vehicle and place it in foster care(ala my house).

You should take a picture. We might be able to figure something, more heads can help sometimes.

Otherwise, pull the front grill and the release latch is exposed. worst case you will have to cut the cable and peel back the case so you can grab the cable with a vise grip. you might even be able to unbolt the latch completely. I'll have to look at mine tomorrow to see whats possble.

So he has no excuse not to get the hood open...

At the very least, the center portion (the actual grill part) can be, the rest might be a little harder, but you don't need to pull that anyway.
