transfer case questions

i know the zf in my diesel is not the same as a gas truck but what about the transfer case? i just drove my truck 1400 kilometers and now i have a whine when i accelerate its getting worse and weird things are starting to happen like it almost seems like the truck starts to hold back a bit and the 4x4 will not engage anymore anyway i have no idea what a t case rebuild would cost me yet but i like cheep and i can get a gas transfer case from pick a part for cheep but i know they have no diesels so would the gasser t case fit my zf ? thanx for any and all help

Agreed. Make sure that if you have a slip yoke tailshaft, that you get another with a slip yoke tailshaft if buying a used one.
