Drivers side of the tranny near where the shifter cable attaches. there is a 1/8 pipe plug.

Really, we have a plug? I never noticed a plug on mine...

The best position of the sender depends on what the truck's being used for.
The transmission draws fluid from the pan, so pan temperature is what will cause overheated seals and internal transmission components. But the fluid is hottest in the hot line right out of the transmission.

So if you're towing and concerned about the transmission health, the best spot is in the pan. If you're powerbraking, the best spot is in the hot line.

Thanks GRuss and Begle1, Is the plug in picture the one you are talking about?
Thanks, Jared
