That is a good idea! 2in or 3/4 are both good. Are you going to make it self draining?
I have been thinking how simple it would be if it was not. I have a diy oil sucker jar thing for mower oil changes and it would be easy to use that. But it adds one more tool/step to the cleaning.

been a year now since I messed with it. not getting anywhere. I bought a new wvo designs unit on fb marketplace for a good price. going with that for now
