Well I bid and WOW I got it but if someone else had bid I would never got it, I bid $300 and that was top bid.

Not sure what else I need to get but when it gets here I see what is missing. Not sure how it mounts so if anyone can help out with some instructions. It's not complete but I do have the most of what I need.
I also bought another motor, 6.9L that I am going to freshen up and drop into my truck in place of the 7.3 thats in it now. My motor has over 200,000 on it and has developed a knock and I am unsure of it. With cavation an issue with the 7.3's and not knowing much about my motor when I bought my truck over 2 years ago.
In a year or two I am going to make a trip to Oregon pulling my 30ft 5th wheeler (5500 miles over big mountains) and wanted to have a fresh motor in it and really wanted a turbo, well my plans are coming together.

Good luck Jim. While you are putting the turbo on, go ahead and fab up an IC. From what I have heard and seen, it will really help with the EGT's. Basically you can concentrate more on the scenery and less on the gauges.

When I ordered my Hypermax turbo and IC kits, Huff ordered the turbo a size larger than he would have for someone installing just a turbo. Said it was to help overcome the boost loss in the IC.

That Oregon trip sounds like the one I want to make in a couple of years too.

That looks exactly like the Factory Ford ATS wastegated turbo that came on my '93 F350. You'll need the oil line, the wastegate actuator,intake hat, oil return tube, downpipe, blowby feed from the cdr and the rocker arm cover with the cdr mounting, maybe a few other bits and pieces.

Good luck with it. If it's in good shape, it'll be a good score...

Good price, but it looks like its leaking oil... could be from another part, but unlikely.

I was thinking of getting some low compression pistons to put in the 6.9L for more air to make the turbo more effective but was told that they are not available anymore. Any one have any info as to where I might find some? If I can't find any has anyone ever heard of a deck plate to lower the compression. If I do lower the compression how will that affect starting? I use to have a Cat 3406b in my road truck and it had a deck plat or if you will a head spacer plate so they have been used but not sure if I could do the same on this type of motor.

You could always have a set of pistons milled or pocketed. I remember hearing Ken's truck though, it cranked and cranked and cranked and then lit off with ether I believe he said. What I don't remember is just how low the compression was. I have that sound file somewhere I think.
