Are you looking at an SCMT or an SCT? The two are worlds apart from one another. The SCMT is an out of the box 3 tunes fits all trucks. The SCT can be custom tuned by dealer. Either way both address the transmission by programming the TCM to increase the line pressure, alter shift point, shift firmness, and can alter TC lockup.

You'll have to let the trans have some time after you install the programs to learn the new trans and engine tunes, otherwise have fun! I might reccomend getting some gauges if you haven't already, more HP equals more EGT! Call us if you have any questions etc.
