Thinking about goin to a dually

So I've been throwing this idea around in my head for quiet awhile now.ive been wanting to make my truck into a dually with an actually dually axle and a dually bed.then I got to thinkin about doin a flatbed but the only problem is is that it'll have a real wide bed with a dually axle and I'd rather have a narrower bed cause I think it'd look way better.could I put a cab chassis axle under my truck because I want wide tired but I don't want a narrow bed and a wide axle and then throw big tires under it and have um stickin out 2 foot on each side.im goin for usability and looks with this

If you're the one designing, and building your flatbed, why can't you taper it to down towards the cab; that would create a streamlined look.

IIRC, flatbeds are the same width regardless of SRW or DRW. That's why SRW trucks with flatbeds look funny. Don't go with a C&C axle if you want to do wide tires. Tires will hit the springs before the wheel mates to the mounting surface, forcing you to have 2 spacers on each side. 1 between WMS and wheel, then one between the inner and outer wheels so the tires won't touch.

No they do have different widths because our Chevy one ton has a wide bed an narrow axle and my fsuperduty has a narrow bed cause it's a cab chassis and the outside dual is just past the bed.

You can use a standard bed and add fenders off of a dually.

Dually bed boxes with fenders in good shape ate hard to come by. Might be easier for you due to location, but it seems like every one you find was owned by a drunk that couldn't learn to not back into things. The factory fiberglass dually fenders are no longer produced and are made thicker than aftermarket fenders. That being said, it's about the same price and a little easier to find "conversion" dually fenders that go on a SRW bed box.

There was one on Craigslist for 300 bucks but of course I didn't have the money but I've gotta have a new bed anyway mines beat to hell

You can always get a normal flatbed and add some fenders to cover the tire. Kinda like these hauler beds.

To what purpose do you want dual wheel rear? Are you going to change front axle too so you carry 1 spare?

What advantage does the flat deck offer you a pu box cant and vica versa...

Yes front axle will be changed and it'll either have a dually bed or a flatbed but I haul a lot of hay and pine and cedar post so I can use my truck for it instead of dads or my other flatbed which isn't licensed and needs work.plus I want a dually lol
