I am looking at putting a 1.5" AAL under the front end to level out the rig a little. The front measures 23.5" from the center of the hub to the wheel well and the rear is 26.1". What I want to do is make the rig sit more level. Usually I like the raked look but I want the rig to sit more level and look a hair cooler!!! (My opinion) I saw a guy with a leveled rig and it just looked cool and now I got the thought in my head of doing it to mine. Also, my tires tend to rub a little and I want that gone (I chopped the front bumper to aleviate mos of the ribbing though) I dont tow that often FYI so tow ability is not that big of a factor.

My question is whether or not guys have done this and liked it or what the verdict is on an AAL for a Full sized rig?

Looking for feedback!!!

This is the lift I am looking at:

I put an add a leaf on my truck and it picked up the front end and leveled the truck perfectly. It does ride a litter rougher but trucks with leafs ride rough by design. I'm pretty happy with mine, and I thought it was pretty easy to install.

my biggest concern is stressing the current leaf pack and possibly breaking leaves due to the rigidity of the pack with an AAL. Also, do they ride even more like a lumber wagon with an AAL, I can only assume so!!!

you aren't gonna stress your current pack any more. the add a leaf will receive the added stresses. i've had an add a leaf on my f250 for a year now. it improved my ride but thats just cause i'm not bouncing off the bump stops anymore.

but it really improved the look of the truck. i'm happy with it. ans my tires would not have fit if i didn't put the leaf in.

My F250's had an add-a-leaf from Suspension Connection in the front for 2-3 years now. So far, no problems. It is definitely a little rougher ride, but worth it for the tire clearance and leveled stance in my opinion, considering it's under $100 in parts. Be warned however, to get the camber set correctly in the front, you'll likely spend some money at an alignment shop getting new upper balljoint bushings installed. Luckily, I was able to do my own alignment work at the dealership where I work, so that saved some money.

That said, my truck needs all new bushings in the front here pretty quick, and in the interests of a smoother ride I'll be looking to Alcan or Deaver spring for some custom front leaf springs that will yeild approx. 2" of lift over stock. I'm thinking of a 4-5 leaf setup made out of thinner leaves should ride WAY better. We'll see...

Whoops. I should have read more thoroughly. In that case, just ship your D60 to me and I'll send you my TTB setup so you can utilize the upper balljoint spacers:sly

Should go together easily and fix your problem for under $100. Post some photos when it's done!

Thanks for the suggestions Reklund.....love your rig BTW!!!

Probably going to do this after Christmas. Just no time before and then leaving for two weeks to visit the fam.....I will post pics when complete!!!!

If you keep good records of your MPG did you guys lose MPGs when lifting? I have in the past and I am just curious!

Just so you know. The crew cabs get 2 add-a-leafs while the reg cabs get 1 add-a-leaf. And adversly affect the ride

I put the 2 add-a-leafs in my crew cab gasser looking for the 1.5-2" advertized lift. Well i found out the hard way, that advertized and actually are completly different. W the 2 in there it lifted the truck 1" that was it. Basickly it was just the thickness of the 2 leafs w the stock 2 leafs. I ended up pulling them out and going w a RSK and it rides SO MUCH BETTER and i got 2.5" of lift. To level it out i took out the factory 4" block and put in a 5"

Those with a F250 who did this lift I have a question, I also have a F250 and wanted to do the same thing, question is, did you have to do anything else? I thought maybe realignment but not sure, what else am I looking to do?
Thanks

Really you would think the company would advertise that....?

Yeah. I was highly dissapointed. Because all i wanted was 1.5-2" .

I now have the RSK and 4" springs(minus 2 leafs) in the front and 6" springs(w a fitted add-a-leaf) in the rear. Total about 8". I want to lower it back down to just the RSK a 2" front lift springs and make the rear match/
