Bleeds IH red...
Anyone have a wiring diagram so I can bypass the nss and hook up my reverse lights.

I'll have you one-upped there - my shifters will have switches on them, all of them including the one for the transfer caseyay shifters everywhere!![]()
Oh btw, if you remove the roll pin that serves as a pivot for the auto shifter, the lever will pop right out of the column. Ya know, in case you get tired of looking at the thing. I got that same style of t-case shifter, but I don't think I'll be using it. I think I like the '80s shifters more, where they come into the cab thru the same tunnel cover as the transmission shifter. And even in that setup I have acquired two different styles, one from an '80 truck (mfg date in '79) with NP208 and one from an '86 with a 1345 Borg... Mix and match anyone?and get the busing for the tcase lever. it's vibrating an driving me crazzzyyy.

OK, this is one giant disasterpiece. 1st off, the tach gets power thru the main power feed for the entire cluster - if everything else works fine, this part is good. 2nd, tach is grounded together with voltmeter and oil pressure gauge - if the other two work fine, I think tach ground path is good as well. Which leave us the 3rd wire, the one for the tach sensor.
In a manual truck that one leaves the cluster, passes thru the firewall, loops around over the rad support to the passenger side inner fender, there it passes thru a grey 8-wire connector located behind the battery, runs on top of the alternator, and hits the tach sensor by the IP. It's a darkgreen/yellow wire all the way, it does not change colors anywhere. At least according to the EVTM.
In an auto truck same wire leaves the gauge cluster as darkgreen/yellow again, till it reaches the bulkhead connector on the firewall. On the engine bay side of said connector the wire changes colors to white/pink, and goes straight into the E4OD computer. Looking at the TCM diagram I cannot find the wire that goes from the TCM to the tach sensor, obviously the truck has it but the EVTM does simply not show it. I looked at my truck, and it appears the tach wire is still dark green (but no yellow stripe) from the sensor thru the fender connector (and it's not the big 8-wire one like the EVTM says, but the smaller 4-wire one) and into the body harness. My guess is that it continues as dark green all the way till it reaches the TCM.
Based on that I'll suggest that you look at your TCM connector, find a dark green wire (with or without yellow stripe) and a white/pink wire, jump them together, and see if that brings your tach back to life. Is your TCM currently unplugged to begin with?
Also, was I correct when I suggested that the backup and NSS wires are in the green connector, and not in the black one as the EVTM was showing me? And how do you have your "low range" and "4x4" lights hooked up, or not at all?
I'm half looking for a rebuildable e4oh-no to have ready when mine inevitably craps out. Keep me in mind if you want to get rid of it.
