Saw it, yes. Not sure I'd trust it for an E4od, but for any other transmission I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Just thought it was interesting. Don't even know how I found it.

Unless you have experience/tools to do it, I don't see it cost effective.
But you never know.

Yeah saw that over there as well, and I also don't remember how I came across it lol.

But yeah even if I had all the tools and time, id still buy a new one before doing that .

Interesting idea, but doesn't make much sense to me - You're saving $45-ish by making a cobbled up thing that may or may not work right, may or may not last any length of time, and takes significant time / tooling to do.

My greatest concern would be clearance - these type of sensors work well within a fairly narrow range of clearance between the face & gear, so you'd need to get it exactly in the proper spot within about 1/32".

What does the transmission have to do with it since the sensor goes onto the oil filler housing on top of the engine?

E4od requires an engine speed input for the brain box. Electronically shifted remember.

What he said. E4od's are incredibly finicky when it comes to their sensors. The guy that built that says it's not 100% accurate, which would make the E4od throw a fit. So, not worth it for something that you ACTUALLY need the readings for. It would work fine for some random guy putting it into a C6 or T-19 truck.

A PSD CPS will do the same thing, but ya gotta have a 3/4"-12 NC chaser nut to put the threads on it. Screw it in to touch, then back it off 1 hex turn,(thats about 14 thousanth clearance) put a little RTV around it to keep it from leaking oil and holding it in place. The EEC-IV don't care from what/where the signal comes from so long as it's the engine RPM.
