hi im still kind of new to this idi stuff but i love it already im just wondering where i can get a gear reduction starter and for how much thanks in advance

Most any auto parts stores carry them, not sure what they cost now but if you don't have a reduction starter for a core you most likely will have to pay the core charge. You can try ebay or craigslist but you are really taking a chance on what you'll get. Also keep in mind idi starter is not the same as the powerstroke.

I have a gear reduction starter on mine right now... Sad thing is it's lasted longer than the previous truck. I got this one so long ago, that I don't remember where I got it. I know it was online, but I haven't found the site again.

thanks about 2 years ago i paid $175.00 to get starter rebuilt i never seen them for diesel trucks before but on race cars i just did buy it now off ebay thanks again.

got my mitsu from advance, with a lifetime warranty. after i returned the core, i paid around $100.
