stainless braided fuel line, for the entire fuel system?

what are your thoughts on running a complete stainless braided fuel line from the tank to the filter and back to the tank?

rated for gas and oil, will diesel eat this up?

If you can afford it, sure.
AFAIK, anything that says "gas and oil" includes diesel.
But it's kind of hard to beat good steel line - almost NEVER needs replacing.

i dont want this on my ride! lol

i was looking up stainless 3/8 and 5/16, but bending that stuff from a coil is a pain in the rear!
i would also have to buy the correct benders which is about 150 bucks.
for 200, i can have all fuel lines and fittings for the SS braided line, not to mention the install will be a cinch!
and if for some reason, one does need to be replaced, it only takes a matter of minutes to replace.

True, steel can/will rust. But it take YEARS.....
And I have all the flaring tools and benders, so that does change your perspective.
And a lot of fittings on hand. Those generally add up to a lot more than the line
in a mod job.
Sounds like your idea is good. Go for it.

I like it just from a "fixing it on the road" perspective. I can see someone being able to put on a new braided line on a dark dirt road MUCH easier than I can see some one fixing a hard steel line. Plus it's look real boss, like it thinks it's a race car...

The only place I feel this is not a good location is the injector hard lines. The reason they are steel and very thick steel tubing is they need to not swell each time the pump attempts to force fuel at 1850 lbs thru them @ 3500 rpm. Thats 50 times per second.

I ran 3/8 aluminum for supply and return. I am running it to the lift pump over on the fender and then braided line to the filter housing and pump. Not sure yet how I will make the connections on the return. If you can get ptfe tubing with braided outter, you can run about whatever you want through it. I picked some -10 up for turbo water lines. You'd want at least -6 for your feed. The hose is not horrible but the fittings are expensive. You have to shop around as I have found. The same fitting can be triple price depending on where you look. I've been hitting fleabay for that stuff mainly.

:***: I think that is a little high? 3500 / 60 seconds / 2 (four stroke) / 8 cylinders works out to each cylinder firing 3.6 times per second at 3500 rpm, no? Moot point anyway... you are right on not wanting tubing to expand.

you are correct. I just took 3500 rpm and divided by 60. Mistake made and corrected....

I would do the whole system in pyrex tube then you would know where the bubbles start
