Calvin that H1C you have has either a 18.5 or 21cm^2 housing. If I remember correctly the A/R ratio for those (considering they have T3 mounts) is like 1.50 A/R for the 21cm housing. Talk about a slow spool

if you ever given your IDI the same chance you give the SD, you wouldn't be saying that. In 2005 I did a major overhaul on my F350, threw a whole bunch of $$$ at it and got a kick-ass tow rig in the end. Oh yea, the $$$ spent was still under $10k(including purchase)....stupid money for an IDI, but peanuts for a SD. I have yet to regret doing so. The truck has ample ballz and yet tame enough to get loaned out without worrying about it getting hurt. Other than a sniff of ether on a really cold morning, the rest of the day can be a no-brainer. There's a few on this board who's taken it on a long run and have commented on the power and the comfort. It truly is a Caddy with ballzsorry, i cant help it..... this thread reminds me why i went back to a super duty. dont have to worry about coolant temps, egts, having enough power, and if i am going to be able to get it slowed down coming back down....![]()
My stock 93 F350 CC DW 4.10, E40D, and 222K will pull 40 - 45 with 5-7K like Greenie listed above in a 5-6% grade, however on flat highway I'll stay at 62-65 (2100-2300rpm) since these trucks were built and geared when the national hwy speed was 55. I do have a question for Greenie, at 80mph does your cooling fan clutch come on and off frequently? I ask because I notice mine roaring up from time to time as the temp goes up maybe more often than I think? My thought is that since it's designed to tow up to 12,5K why would it be going up and down so often (temperature wise) with only half a load at 65mph?

you should also state if you have 3.55 or 4.10 gears........big difference.Loaded at 32,000 pounds pulling Pacheco Pass at 9lbs of boost I am in first gear doing 19mph. Nope, no speeding there. I have since then changted pumps, advanced the timing and turned it up a bunch. Curios to see now, but i think the egt's are going to climb way to fast. I feel a cam changed coming along with an intercooler.
