I've read alittle bit about eradic trans shifts and ABS light on sometimes and at one time or another have had these same problems.I just cleaned rear end housing oil out and put syn. oil back in with new aluminum cover. So where is this sensor and what does it look like and what do you need to clean or install new one or check it etc. as this is not something that happens all the time?

The sensor you're referring to is the vehicle speed sensor (VSS). It's a 10mm(?) Bolt that holds it in. Then, you just pull it out and clean off any crap that has accumulated or, you can buy a new one.....they're fairly inexpensive. Hope this helps.

The bolt was 1/2" as I think it's 14mm anyway I took the VSS out and didn't have hardly if anything on it.Two small pieces of metal But I cleaned it anyway and reinstall so I guess we'll find out if those small metal pieces make any difference...Thanks
