Thought about trying to run a yellow light on a right turn but decided last minute to stop after seeing some cameras… ended locking up the rear wheels of the truck for the first time ever! Still can’t make a u turn without cussing but at least can stop on a dime.

My efforts to remain low tech had their first big downfall this past week. I insist on using the old Kodak, PC, and flip phone method. My internet router quit working Tuesday morning. I tried calling the internet help desk for my internet provider. The determination was that the SIM card in my router was bad. I decided to wait until today to drive down to Hays, KS which has the biggest store in the area. I did end up with a new SIM card, but it came wrapped in a new router. Oh well. The old router lasted for about 10 1/2 years so that wasn't all that bad.
Next, I went on a temporary, imagined sudden weight loss program. I didn't really lose any weight, but while I was in Wal-Mart, it sure looked like I did once again!

So close to the worlds largest ball of twine........:D
I'm even closer. I live less than 1 1/2 hours away. That's also about how far I live from the center of the lower 48 states. I've been to the center, I drive by the twine once in a while, but haven't stopped.

I just had the opposite experience, not completely opposite mind you just related to locking up the rear wheels.

I recently fixed my rear ABS thingy. I am not sure how, just got to fooling with it, cleaned all the contacts, plugged it back in and for the 1st time in the 18 years I've owned this truck the ABS light is off. Had to make a rapid stop at a light recently and didn't lock up the rear tires. One mans progress............

You guys just sent me down a 1 hour rabbit hole! I got all kinds of useless knowledge now. And I have to restart The Streets Of San Francisco.

It's only things that I've seen driving by. No research required on my part. Kansas isn't quite as bad as the stereotypes say it is.

If i remember, Hoxie's kind of in some hills. At least it seems like there's some hills between it and the interstate. I haven't been in that part of Hoxie for over 20 years so I don't remember it really well. I have been through on Hwy 24 a handful of times since.

They are a large Medium and Heavy Duty truck parts salvage operation with sites scattered around the Great Plains and Midwest. I think they started in Iowa and expanded outward from there.
