Someone left a note offering to buy my unpowered 4 door project. Wife was a little too excited about that! Kid at the Carls Jr. Drive through thought my profile pic truck was cool . Told her right there that my stinky old Ford's are appreciated!
I needed some feline supplies again so I went to Wal-Mart. Since I've been a good boy lately (and there's nobody else around to tell me different either) so I went to Harbor Freight first and treated myself to a transmission jack. It was more than I really wanted to spend, but the project list includes dropping the ZF5 out of the red treasure hunt truck, replacing the C6 in Ex Wife with that ZF5, fixing a rear main engine seal leak in the Blue Truck, and maybe, eventually, dropping the FMX out of the Red Truck and putting an AOD in it's place. With this in mind, I could justify buying it. I REALLY hate dropping a transmission with just a floor jack anymore. At Wal-Mart, I found a good T-shirt and treated myself again. On the way home, I got to test out my El Cheapo LED H4 replacement bulbs. I wasn't too impressed for the 55 or so miles back north from Wal-Mart, but in the town at the turn west, I pulled into the restaurant parking lot there. I was pretty sure that the driver's side light was too low (I clipped a deer with that corner of the truck around 4 years ago). I had to raise the light all the way up and it's still a little bit low due to the mounts and supports all being bent from the deer. I got back onto the highway and WOW! what a difference! I can only be about 85% sure since there was a full moon and cloudless sky tonight, but I think that I finally found a combination that I'll be happy with. The LMC Truck lights seem to throw a good pattern even with the LEDs and the glass lenses in them won't yellow. I still need less of a moon or some clouds to be sure, but for now, I'm happy with this. If I end up sticking with this set up, I'm going to do away with the $20 H4s and buy some better quality ones from Everything LED for about $60 plus shipping and maybe taxes.
i went to napa to get oil for doing an oil change on my truck, hopefully next week. i also had them test my batteries, the one tested good and the other one tested lower than it should therefore it should be replaced. hopefully the battiries can make it through this colder weekend we are so pose to have.

Re transmission jacks: once I get mine back I'll post a pic. Modified a 205 litre drum coaster with a huge bottle jack and made up a set of cradles mounted on a threaded jack-screw arrangement made out of a house jack! Best thing I ever made. If only I ever get it back!
Re 4x4 honda quad braking: mine's an ought 3, 350 fourtrax which is full time 4x4. Any brake application anywhere brakes all four wheels. Really bites imo. It's also a bit light and loses front grip on ice which means you can go anywhere as long as it's straight ahead!
Any chance you might post a part number for them shiny new headlights? I'll see if crappy tire or princess auto can track them down up here on the tundra.
The lights themselves are great. I'm just trying to make them better. You still need a relay kit to run them as well.
The ones that I'm running are from LMC Truck. The part number is 36-0282-F. Description is "custom headlight-200mm". The price is $29.95 each. I was running the blue bulbs before this experiment and will be again if I don't like it. Right now, they're saying that the lights and bulbs are backordered. Remember that I'm also running some LED H4 replacements in them. The lights come with a rubber boot over the back of the bulbs, but the LEDs that I have in there right now are too big for that boot to fit over so I just left it off. Here's what the lights look like installed and turned off. A friend of mine calls them "Freightliner headlights". I also haven't entirely called the experiment a success yet. I only think that it will be.
Did some gardening. I don’t know what the hell this plant was, but haven’t liked it since I moved in here 2 years ago. The thing was spiky as hell and I didn’t want to take a chain saw to it. Figured I’d hitch it to the IDI and see what happens.

Found out @laserjock has gremlins in his garage. Left my truck at his house last Sunday and When I showed up yesterday it had the remaining 4 injectors installed, custom headlight relay, and headlights polished.
Decided to change the oil and that turned into a 4 hour project. Ended up sharpening a piece of 1/2” rebar, spearing the filter and attaching 3’ of pipe for leverage. Holy f$#&. That filter was on there.
I’ll start a build thread and add pics. Plan to run it like I stole it but we have reason to believe I have a cylinder low on compression.
