I like the cummins as a motor swap. If someone was considering a swap buying that truck would be a cheap way to do it. Just buy that truck and use it for the parts. People are paying 10K and more for a cummins swap.

That engine has a strange looking injector-pump and a generally poor looking conversion job with no attention to details.
I don't think that engine came from a Dodge truck; but, more likely, it came from an industrial application, or, possibly, a mid-range truck.
If it was closer to me, it would possibly end up in my yard, as I have been looking for a crew-cab Ford to stick a Cummins in.
No interior pictures is also a bad sign.

Whoa! Good eye, that is one strange injection pump. That air filter is squished pretty good, and ominous yellow wires draping across anything anytime anywhere is always cause for alarm.

I think the strange IP you guys are seeing is the A/C compressor. The motor looks to be a '89-'93 w/VE rotory IP. Not the best for power, but they are what gave Dodge/Cummins it's pickup reputation. With some cleanup work under the hood and elsewhere that would be a very nice camper hauler, IMO of course.

One only has to wonder "what if" that combination was a production reality...
A rift in time and a minor change was made.... the best chassis with the best motor.....oh the possibilities...
Quite possibly Chevy and Dodge would have never sold another truck! Although I have become quite attached to my IH diesels (grew up in Ft. Wayne so I'm partial to International), I can't help but think that Ford may have had a monopoly on diesel pickups if that had happened. As it was, they already had market share by 2:1 margin over the other two. I'm not sure how they fare now. I think they still have market share, but it is slipping away from them.
I'm a perfect example. Although I love my IDI's and I'm partial to Ford trucks, they don't make 'em like that anymore. So I drive an '06 Duramax as my daily driver.
