I know some have raised up their seats in the back of extended cabs, but I was wondering how much? I noticed that the back edge sits on a ledge on the floor pan. If I raise it too much will it lean back?

Also, for those who have done this, did you just cut a piece of C-channel for the extension?

i will be doing this soon but don't have a clue yet!

Ditto - I bought a bracket kit off another member of a similar board (which shall remain nameless here).

Looks like it raises the seat about 4". I Plan on installing it in the 2nd rig in my sig - sometime after the ZF upgrade and a couple of other more pressing issues are fixed.

THe kit is the way to go- it makes it so nice and easy to just bolt everything in place and be done with it. It simple, but convienent. I raised mine 3" to have room for my stereo amps...

In 20 years I've never had anyone ride back there...so what's the reason for raising the seat?

To keep your teenagers from beaching about their knees in their chest, my legs hurt etc, etc, etc on long trips......I've been through the teen years and getting ready to do it again soon, trust me, the longer you can keep them quiet and happy the nicer the ride is.

Of course not having to trade it for a crew cab, storage for tools, amps etc is a nice benefit too.
