If a post gets deleted does your post count go down?

Yes, if the post is physically removed from the database you will lose that post count, same as if a thread that you have posted in 10 times is physically removed from the database you will lose 10 counts.
Fortunately we dont do that very often, the only posts that get physically removed are ones that we catch that are simply double posts where a user accidentally posts the same info twice in a thread or cross posts same info in two or more forums. Most all other stuff that appears to have been deleted just ends up in a recycle bin whereby the users post count does not suffer.
