After turbo it becomes a little less accurate. I think post turbo 900-1000 degree mark is the max.

Recently I saw 900 with a maxed out fuel screw and hammer down. Thats the highest it has gotten on me.

Not too sure about the 300* difference in post/pre turbo fitment , if i were to run the pyro post turbo i would'nt be too happy with temps over 750/800.

the cooldown through the turbo is really just a guess number. which is why you have so many different answers. 1250 is max egt but most like to stay below 1150-1200 reading the exhaust before the turbo. I would also just put it before the turbo its not really harder unless you already have a spot for it in the dp

Having the pyro after the turbo is trusting lots of variables. How much trust do you want to put in these things. Install it BEFORE and be sure.....

Put it in the manifold! the closer to the piston the better, 1250 is max for short periods of time as thats close to the tempurature aluminum starts to melt at, but with the oil cooler jets squirting on the bottom of the pistons the pistons tend to stay cooler than what the EGT's are, BUT if everything isnt in A1 shape with the oil/cooling system then it might not keep them that cool, so the best thing would be 1050-1100degrees sustained temputure for any length of time, but only 1250 for short burst less than 30 seconds

putting it in the manifold is obviously way better, im just a lazy **** and dont want to take the u-pipe off to get rid of all the shavings!

i believe he suggested leaving it running while drilling the hole as a means of blowing the shavings out before they have a chance to fall into the manifold. but that wouldnt be very useful if you had to tap the hole too. the tap would get too hot to handle before you could get anywhere near done
