pump issues

did my roadtrip, no problems, blah blah

this morning try to fire up the truck and no start, just cranks, no smoke out the exhaust.
I cracked an injector line, spun the engine over and over, no fuel out injector.
fuel in in filter, and comes out schrader valve and to the ip with no problem.

so I assume FSS. I have power at the wire, I manually jumped the FSS and it clicks.
is there any other way to check the FSS? is there anything else I should be looking at?

Hey its your wiring not the FSS. I'm no good at electrical stuff, so I can't tell you how to fix it.

the selenoid clicks. and there IS power at the wire.

I think what he was saying is that it clicks with you manually putting power to it, but it doesnt do it when you turn the key. Have you checked that though?

Maybe I misread your post. I thought you said it was alright when you manually jumped the solenoid. IDK sounds like maybe a sheared pump shaft or a bad governor cover. Time to call Mel.

was just that dang FSS
thanks mel for the help and getting the pump shop ok to swap selenoids.

up and running, which is good, it's easy to get used to new power.... it's hard to get used to less power

If it clicked how was it not working?

thats my point.
don't take a sound as working.

have to dig in and test it manually to see if the plunger moves.

It's very unusual for it to click and not work. The rebuilder tests all the solenoids at 10 volts to be sure they will work properly. A weak one shouldn't make it out of the shop. He says those hair line cracks you described are very common, and don't usually condem a solenoid. Glad this was an easy fix!
