Other than the regular rattle and injector ticking I can't hear a thing, as I have a darn B17 propeller merely inches ahead of that location that makes all kinds of "whoosh" noises...

I see absolutely no blowby and hear some gear noise which is normal, if you hear some bad sounds i would pull the small inspection cover(7.3) or oil filler neck(6.9) and make sure your bolts that hold the ip to the gear are tight, if there not they will make a hell of a racket and mess other things up ask me how i know

Are you hearing what sounds kinda like a whistling? I think that is the gear noise, or I hope that's what it is. The first time I heard it I thought, "what the hell!"
