I know its not a great accomplishment but I replaced my mechanical fuelpump on my 91 7.3 idi. Im just a shade tree mechanic at best and had never done it before. It went very smooth and runs alot better but I still have a hesitation/stutter when under heavy acceleration. I dont do this very often though as this dually crewcab is my daily driver. I need to get it timed properly, but i think im on the road to recovery!! Now to save my pennies for a turbo setup!!

Glad you tried... Thats how we all learned here. I remember my wife buying an XJ12L Jag Sedan.... It had a V12 motor... The po gave me a very good shop manual... It was overwhelming at first but I learned.... That motor was a pig. The best mileage it ever got was 6 mph... It sure ran smoothly... You had no idea the motor was even running it was so smooth.... It just couldn't pass a fuel stop....:rotflmao

Oh yea, i remember changing mine out last year. Changing those out arnt that fun at all.

Glad you got done! Its a great learning experience.

The second time i had to replace my fuel pump( first one went out, replaced it under warranty) I figured out it would be easier to take the tire off and the wheel well out to get at it, it went alot faster the second time! LOL
