If youve found a sandwich adapter that allows full flow to the main filter that simply has a side tap for a bypass filter, then that *should* work, but yo may have clearance issues. Do you have a link to this?

The PS oil filter does fit but just barely. I've got one on my truck but haven't tried one on my van yet.

I was thinking about trying this, I know it's pricey, but oil changes will be easier, less often, and more reassuring.

2 ideas, depending on how much hose they send me. Frame Rail, or Flat Bed Toolbox.

Comes with 12 feet, so I Should be able to run it to the flatbed with no real problems, that will add capacity, more cooling time, and better protection from the environment.

OK, that amsoil unit is not just a bypass adapter. that is a complete full flow diverter that goes with their dual remote system and yes, it is a great setup and will work on your engine. There are much cheaper ways to get an amsoil bypass filter on your engine if you would like PM me

If you found a sandwich bypass adaptor, we could use the standard idi oil filter and not have a clearance issue. The only reason we use one is for the added oil and filtration correct? The bypass would give us that

I just checked out the Amsoil link....If the picture is what you are actually buying and not just a picture of generic oil filter adapters, then you are paying $386 for two parts....two parts that you don't even need and the other two parts don't even fit an IDI. A first rate by-pass oil filter setup can be added to an engine (any engine) without getting ripped off by Amsoil.

It includes everything needed to make the setup, the adapter, lines, fittings, header, and filters. Pays for itself after 18 months just in saved cost of oil changes, much less the increased ease of the changes. And the added capacity is a bonus.
