So a dually with a dana 60 can be used as a 4x4 axle or does that mean that no 2wd truck will have a dana 60.

No two wheel drive truck will have a front Dana 60. That's why it's called a 2WD. Only the rear axle is turning the tires.

A 2WD truck could have a rear Dana 60, but you can't use that for a frontend.

Im sorry but i dont know **** about axles and all.

Two wheel drive trucks only have a rear differential, the fronts are just steering and suspension. 4x4 trucks have a front differential as well which I presume is what you're after. UNLESS you are looking for a REAR axle, in which case any 2wd rear axle will work regardless of 4x4 or 4x2. If you want a FRONT dana 60 (which it sounds like you do), you will need an 86-up F350 4x4 to source a front axle from.

no 2wd trk will have a dana axle.
any time anyone talks about a dana 60 from a dually they are refering to a 4x4 dually, not a 2wd dually. there is no way shape or form that a 2wd frt axle can be used for 4x4. also the dually frt axles have hubs or spacers that allow it to be used with the dually offset rim. that way you dont have different frt and rear rims. those frt hubs or spacers can be removed so you can use it in a srw trk.

Just as an iformational tidbit, there is a guy over on Pirate4x4 that changed his TTB from leaf spring to a radius arm and coil-over set-up. Looks like a really good upgrade if you can fab. It was posted in the show your towrig thread in the towrig forum. The truck is a white mid 90s crew shortbed PSD.
