i have a 94 f250 7.3 idi n/a with 150k miles i recently became the unfortunate owner off. ok so it ran fine the first couple days i had it back and forth to work, 30 miles + a day, then one day i lost my heat and the temp rose pretty good and blew the top hose. truck never missed a beat. I shut it down and towed it to a friends shop. Changes the hoses, belt, thermostat and filters and changed the exhaust from the 2.5 to 4". I noticed a miss at high rpms so after i changed everything i cracked each injector but didnt find any that were not responding to being cracked, and the mis was gone so i let them be. The oil was black but the water was little gray and had chuncks of stop leak in it. after getting everything done it ran better than it did when i picked it up however it smoked blue/white HEAVILY at idle and when i wasnt into the throttle but when i put it to the floor, all black no blue and ran excellant. Next day (still no heat) i drove about 10 mins up the road and temp rose up so i shut it off. at my friends house. few hours later it started right up and didnt smoke blue at all.I pull into my driveway and there it was again, BLUE SMOKE at idle. At this point i started shift the next morning so it sat for a few days.
ok so today i was bound and determined to get the water temp up so i could maybe figure this issue out. Well i top of the radiator with water and let it idle for about 15 mins then ran it about 5 miles like a dog but water temp wouldnt even get half way. My heat now works vs before when it blew cold air. I not have a noticible miss while at the top of each gear and during pickup (stumbles then clears itself up at the bottom of the next gear, trucks idle dropped after about 30 mins of running and went from sounding like a good running diesel to a diesel with a hugh lope cam....... Truck goes in and out of phases where it will smoke blue at idle or whenever im not on the gas...... *** is going on. The oil is still black but the coolant is gray, (still has stop leak in the system), however the previous owner dumped stop leak in the radiator cause it "burned water". anyone know whats goin on??
