I picked up this 92 Hot Shot rig on friday but the Overdrive is not working. There is an aftermarket switch on the dash that looks to overide the factry dash button. There is power down to the trans when you flip the switch but OD does not enguage.

Tha tranny shifts great other wise, there seems to be no issues other than the OD.

Any suggestions??

Thanks for the help! Here is a pic of the truck.

The "TPS" sounds like it needs to be adjusted.
Most times what will happen is you're driving along
and it will fall out of OD while driving, then stay
stuck in drive. It's probly past that point and just
won't shift up. There is some info available in the
tech section of the PDR site. "link in my sig" That info
will get you started. It involves some drive and adjust
crap that takes a while to get setup. Don't just rush
out and buy a "TPS" though. Follow their instructions first.

One thing to consider:

I mentioned a while back, about a salesman that stopped at my buddy's place. He claimed that he had very much tranny trouble, until he found a mechanic who told him not to tow in O/D under 2000rpm. Below that, the O/D clutch pressure drops off, and burns the pack.

Just something to consider.
