I've got an E4OD spare that needs to be tore down, hopefully it's only the front seal. Loaned one of my trucks to my nephew, he got stuck in the woods with a full load pulling a trailer full of wood, pumped all the fluid out 40 miles from home, $280 tow. LOL

LOL Yeah I have to wonder about a few of the E4ODs out there that die for "no apperant reason". Its not a perfect design but but there is something to be said for human error too.

Mine can be programmed to refuse entering 1st gear at speeds beyond what is safe.

But I shift mine manually all the time too and always know what gear I am in. Drop to 3rd, hit the shift table switch and the torque converter grabs.....ok, now to tear a strip off that hill up ahead coming up. *slowly leans into throttle and puts on evil grin* (huh, we don't seem to have one of those....;Really)

Anyway, dispite my ranting of the non gated turbo I am running, the truck is still able to do what I ask and can even the score with any hill in my area. The trick is keeping my foot out of it.

Heehee, manually shifting down to 2nd limits me to about 65 MPH but boy does she scream for me right up to the governor. I've never really NEEDED to do that but it doesn't stop me from using it anyway on the weekend:angel:

Depending on what was done internally, a modified transmission can be put into manual first at a reasonable speed. :D

Try this with a stock E4OD or 4R100. You get the real cool feeling of nothing.:rotflmao Kind of like its coasting, when it should be slowing down. Reality is the clutch pack have engaged and are on nuclear meltdown.:eek:LOL
