Oil dipstick tube bracket

Hey guys,
So I got a replacement oil dipstick tube for the buted one in my truck from Ford, just the upper dipstick tube. I remember towcat saying they have a bracket that bolts to the engine valve cover to keep them from vibrating apart and breaking, but none came with mine. They acted like they didn't know what I was talking about either so I just had to go with it. Can anybody find me a part number or knows of an acceptable substitute? Will I break the new part if I install it without one? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Most any wreckig yard will have one. There small enough to fit in your pocket too.....

Does it need to be one from a diesel or are they all pretty similar. Or at least similar enough to work.

Diesel only. Look at what is available in the yard...

There are 3 different styles of dipstick tubes on these things. Looks like you got the top half of the non-bracketed design.

Really.... hmm, I can't remember if mine never had a bracket or if I just deep sixed it in the extra parts pile when I did head gaskets in 2003 been way to danged long ago! I suppose I'm just going to press it in with a dab of rtv and maybe put a piece of fuel hose around it to dampen the vibration somewhat.
