Odometer problems???

Driving my truck the other day at a steady 45 and all of a sudden my speedo jumps to max speed and goes back, but now my odometer is in Km... Help?

What truck? Put it in your sig. Is it cable driven or electronic. Doesn't show up in my crystal ball.
