What is A/An "OBS" ?
Nickname for the body style.
80-86 - Bullnose. On some sites this is a 7th generation truck.
87-91 - Bricknose. 8th generation truck
92-97 - OBS (Old Body Style or Original Body Style). 9th generation truck. This nickname was in reference to the pre 99 body, or the Original body style the PSD was available.
In 97 was the year Ford made the F-150 and the F-250/350/450 different bodys. The 97 F-150 was the rounded nose truck, and the 250/350 was still an OBS. The only F-250 with a 98 model year was a Light Duty F-250 that was the half ton body with heavier axles and 7 lugs.
99 (which were actually released in early 98) was the start of the SuperDuty F-250/350/450/550 Truck’s.
