noise help please

Exhaust leaks are hard to hear over an idling diesel unless its a huge leak.look around all areas of the sytem for sooting of the up pipes,block,heads and turbo.diesels ate easy to find exhaust leaks on,they pretty much point them right out.

Do these trucks crack flywheels easily I was told by mechanic it could b a flywheel

Never heard of or seen one crack a flywheel.wouldnt be that loud.would be more a creak,crackling or ticking noise.not a pop

These motors break exhaust manifold bolts and they dont use manifold gaskets.if you find a leak at the manifold fel pro makes gaskets for it and id recomend using them.

Could be up pipe donut gaskets are junk.they dont last forever.

Well it was a broken bolt in the drivers side manifold. Appreciate the help guys.
