No start after ZF5 swap?!?!?!

I got every thing buttoned up and I turn the key and nothing??? What the heck! The shifter is in park, I had disconnected the E4OD harness from the plug by the firewall. All the dash lights come on as if about to start but nothing, not even the starter kicking over. I took the starter out and reconnected it but I put everything back as it was. Any ideas???

Your saying it is in Park but your also saying zF5 swap. Did you take the Auto out and put the Zf5 in?

Assuming that you put the ZF5 in did you also hook up the neutral safety switch and wire that in to where the Neutral safety switch would be on the E4OD?

Yes, I swapped zf in, i didnt hook up any nss.

I have a heim joint instead of a normal bushing and the nss wouldnt fit on. How can I make it work without one?

yes me to i have a push button start and manual gp on a push down toggle, so no nss on my zf swap needed

I believe the wires that all tie into the neutral safety stuff are red with black strip. So look for those wires at the firewall where the plugs for the e40d are. Also under the dash my truck had provisions for the clutch master cylinder neutral safety switch, but had a jumper plugged into the plug since my truck was originally auto.

Did you ditch the wiring that went down to the e40d already? Another alternative would be take the switch off the side of the e40d and put it and the e40d wiring all back together to get your truck running until you get the wiring figured out.

My truck is an 89 so the colors could be different.

You could just jumper a wire off the positive battery to the solendoid for now to start it until you get the wiring figured out.
