We just got me my dream vehicle a 2000 Ford excursion limited 4x4 with the 7.3 PS and just 233k miles!! needs a little work but that's the fun part!!

Anyways I'm used to the 7.3 IDI and was told this knob is a tuner.... anyone know anything about it and how to read it? I don't wanna mess it up. It didn't roll coal on my way home but the turbo sounds were very loud so I'm assuming it's in a good tune.

Congratulations on getting an Excursion. I love mine and is back to being my DD. Yours is a match to mine, except my is an Eddie Bauer and 6.0… but the same white/gold and tan interior.

If that is indeed a knob for a tuner, which it looks like it could be, there should be something plugged in the port on the ECM (could be a box, or a bare circuit board, the one I saw on another 7.3 was just a bare circuit board). The ECM is down by the emergency brake pedal, mounted through the firewall, with what you are looking for inside the cab, should be toward the end closest to the seat, facing the passenger side (the plug going to the engine is actually on the engine side of the firewall). See what kind of markings you can find and then “use jazz hands on the gargler” and see who it is from and maybe what the settings actually do.. Or at least be about to find out who the contact and ask.
