New starter, what a difference!

So I spent the last 3 days getting the truck ready for North Dakota next week, putting a new Denso stater from DB in, electric fuel pump, and other stuff, but man what a difference that starter makes. I knew my old one was on its way out, but I diddnt know an IDI could start this well. Let it cycle, flip the switch and its running, I just hope it does this well in sub-zero temps. If anyone is contemplating a new starter, do it, its the best thing Ive done for my truck in a long time.

Ya know.... Sometimes its impossible to explain how much better a starter makes these engines start. But once you upgrade from the direct drive starters you will become a true believer and be leading the march waving the flag like a cheerleader of the band..... We really don't feel the daily grind our starters feel as they wear down. Long cranking secissions take plenty of life out of a starter. Then one day its just not going to spin or you magically find the mysterious area in them that has all the smok stored up. And you let it out. A new or rebuilt gear reduction starter is better than money in the bank. So if any of you out there are cranking for long starts because of a fuel or glow plug issue.. Just get it fixed and install a new starter afterwards. It'll put a big smile on your face....

I have heard that North Dakotans use their block heaters pretty regularly when temps go below -20F or so for hours at a time. Hope the weather there is a lot warmer than that when you visit the place.

I'm not sure if Ill have access to a power cord or not so Ive done everything I can to make it start as well as possible if I dont. Sure hope it does well for me.
