Hey, my name is Clint and I was sent to this site cuz I hear it's the best one for info pertaining to the 'ol IDIs. Just fyi although I just got my first diesel I am very familiar with them having used them quite a bit at work. Anyhow here's the story of my broken '94: Its an extended cab 4x4, with a zf5. I picked it up for 500 bucks from a neighbor, I got it so cheaply cuz the tranny and the turbo and supporting parts had been stolen. I'm wondering if anybody out there has a diagram of the ATS 093 factory turbo? Since I've never been around this particular motor I don't know how it all should go together. Also, Does anybody have a factory turbo kit or parts (intake, intake hat, up-pipe etc.) that I could purchase? Or know of somewhere these parts could be purchased cheaply?? I'm not worried about finding a tranny (they're a dime-a-dozen out here) but if any of yall could help me out that'd be great! Thanks in advance for the help, and sorry for the really long post.

Welcome to the forum. Its true. This forum knows more about these motora and trucks than any dealer. As for finding your missing turbo parts... Thats really easy. It comes up all the time on ebay. You mentioned needing an intake manifold. Any idi intake from any 6.9 or 7.3 motor will work. They are all the same as with many other parts of these motors. What you do not want is the factory turbo down pipe. It was flattened from the factory and really restricts the exhaust flow. I'm sure you will be able to find a wastegated turbo on ebay or maybe a member here will sell you one. Like I said, they come up all the time on ebay as do others like the Banks wastegated systems. The big three are Banks, ATS and Hypermax. I prefer the Banks because its easier to install and Banks still supports this model.

Hey thanks for the quick reply guys I really apreciate it. Hopefully I'll end up getting her together without spending too much money. The guy was gonna scrap it if i didn't want it and I just hate to see good old iron die like that if ya know what i'm saying.

icanfixall: Thanks for the heads on the dp. Yeah the thieves actually left it behind and i though it looked pretty restrictive. Nice truck by the way!

Wow, This forum is pretty sweet, everyone actually seems, for the most part, pretty respectful. That's def a change up from some of the sites i've been on. I like it, feels like a community instead of a place where some punk-A#% kid with a cummins is always talkin' trash about something or other hahaha.

I think you will find that most of the IDI folk on here are either young kids (who in a sense are like the cummins kids your talking about LOL), and old IDI wise-men. None of us tolerate disrespect at all, yet we do like to make fun of other memebers who learn each of our sense of humor.

Sorry to hear about the truck getting parts stolen off of it, at least you picked it up cheap though! Wonder how it will start those cold S.D. days.

Welcome to the board. Now that you've got the info you need, fill in your signature, and post some pictures of your new truck. We really like pictures here. Also, go to the archives and tech articles to learn the need to know information for these motors.

Well I filled out my sig, but apparently my pictures "Execed File Size." Oh well. I'll change my avatar to a pic of it if that'll work.
