Hi all! Sorry I have not posted in a while. I have been noticing my old factory temp gauge has been running on the high side while towing and the same while empty. I thought for sure I had some major problems. Then I checked in here and decided to change to a mechanical gauge. Boy what a difference it is to be able to see what is really going on. I found out that my truck was doing just as it is supposed to. No problems. I see temps at 190 empty and around 200-210 while towing my 35 foot just under ten thousand pound camper uphills here in east Tennessee. Well thanks guys for all the great info you sure saved me alot of time and money once again!!! :hail

The factory coolant temp gauge works fairly close to the mechanicals on some trucks but not the case for everyone, some are way off and I believe the early years are this last ones. Mech gauge is the way to go .
