I have a 1991 ford f150 scsb 4x4. I have been researching about going carbureted on then said forget carbs and ive decided to do what i really want. Drop a diesel in it. Now before people get into frame and axle strength drama. Its getting boxed and sas with 1 tons.

Im in widener right now but moving to fortsmith in about a week. And im thinking 6.9 idi with some internal work and a turbo. Nothing record breaking but enough to keep up with stock powerstrokes and some cummins.

the hardest part about this swap is the driverside engine mount.
maybe the trans X member.
and wiring.
other than that youll be ok until you kill the bearings in the front end due to weight.
theres a few guys that have done this.
search F150 in the IDI section.
welcome to OB

I dont have to worry about the front end. Itd be getting 1 tons. And the mounts and wiring should swap right over

the wiring out of a diesel truck will swap,
switching to a diesel cluster and FSV will be needed if you want everything to work.
the frame on the F150 is different than the diesel 3/4 or 1 ton.
you have a hole in the driverside for the oil filter.

but youll find all of this out.

Yes i know i will need to adress the hole in the frame but thats easy work. I planned on buying a doner truck using the dash components and using a bronco 38 gallon rear tank. (Mines a factory rear only tank) and using the harness and engine and trans out of the doner. As well as a dana 60 and 10.25 axle with a 1in body lift. And to weld in some boxing plates along the frame.

Ive been looking at that thread haha. I know what its going to take to do it. Im just saving up for a donor truck. Hopefully one i can pull the dash and interior out of. Mines crap.
