My new Nothern Auto Parts catalog (website is same as name) lists the 7.3 IDI cam kit at $507.82. It includes Federal Mogul cam and lifters, and Melling cam gear(?). I've had great customer service with them and they are one of the few companies that list our parts in their catalog. I believe just the cam from Ford is in the $800 price range. cookoo

Well gee. If thats Fords idea of a "fair price" I'll be looking into just regrinding mine here in L.A. We have several cam manufactors that will grind almost anything. I have the lifters and don't think I need a gear but I'll know in a few weeks. The motor will be out of my truck very soon.

If you want to ship it to wa i can get it reground for about a hundred. Delta cams did mine and they put a little extra lift and duration on it, cant go much but they said they have many happy customers. You should be able to get it done in the la area for about the same. ;Sweet

If it comes down to it, I have an extra 6.9l cam. There's a very light coat of surface rust on it; I don't know how much of an isue that is...I imagine it would be pretty easy to clean up, although I haven't tried. Other than the surface rust (and the fuel pump lobe IIRC), it's in excellent shape.

If you want it, it's yours...I can take it down with me next time I run down to Southern California (probably in a month or two) or ship it; not sure how much of a hurry you're in...
