OK, this is kinda confusing but I will be as to the point as possible.

About 6mo ago I traded my 1984 F250 6.9 for a 1971 Chevy C20(I know I know...) I gave the guy $150 plus $50 to bring the Chevy to my house,so $200 total cash.
Since then, I have traded that 71 Chevy for a 1990 F350 CREWCAB dually 460/E4OD, a 1989 F250 SuperCab 351w/C6, and a 1987 F350 CabChassis 6.9/C6..YES all 3!
The guy that has my 84 F250 wants to trade me back for my CrewCab. It had $428 in back fees and needed smog. Out original deal was he would pay half the fees and I would smog...so I would get 200 plus the 84 in trade. NOW, he is losing his job, and I have paid all the fees and smogged....he still wants to trade, but cannot afford any cash output.
The diesel runs GREAT,but is a manual trans 4spd w/3.55 gears(2wd) The dually runs good, but I dont have any seat time with it to know anything about it. I really have no use for a dually. And at the end of July there will be another $240 due for registration, it needs full interior and the driver side rear fender is cracked and bed dented. This would be a STRAIGHT TRADE.
Here are pics of each truck.
HONEST opinions are what I am looking for. Thanks

I think the crew cab dually is worth quite a bit more than the '84 diesel. If you want a diesel why not sell the dually and go shopping for a diesel with the cash?

Im not sure that the dually is worth THAT much more, it was used as a work truck. It does run good, but shifts hard(E4OD) and the body has some dents that Im not ok with.

keep that 460 truck! thank the lord for the big block ford!:D

since your asking.you don't need a crew cab dually no more than you need a diesel truck.;) so pick the one you want.
personally id pick a gas 7th gen over a diesel 8th gen any day.in this case here you get a 7th gen diesel for the double win.:)

as for him.the last thing he needs is a big block dually truck after losing his job! that's not a good combination.he won't be able to drive it.

trade that gas hog and get your '84 back.;Sweet

Yeah, I think I will get the 84 back. I have a spare engine and a C6 in my 87 F350 cab/chassis parts truck.

gassers are good for 1 thing, and 1 thing only.....PARTS!

or, if you want a crew cab, use the VIN engine and trans and swap it to a diesel

Well, I got my 84 back. Never really did like the crewcab anyway. When I get one, I want it to be a 4wd. Thank You for all the help!
