Need help with transfer case leak

first, that is not a leak. Its seepage. You can fix that by changing the seal.
Second, if that is how your driveshaft yoke is always seated, you have bigger problems. When the truck is at its resting position, the yoke should be about an inch out from the bottomed out position. The seal is seaping due to the fact that is riding on the non machined part of the yoke and is prolly pretty tore up by now.

thanks- how do i correct the problem with the yoke?? I assume this was caused by the lift??

Get your driveshaft shortened. You'll get a reference of how much just by pulling it out and seeing where the seal marks are at.

About as difficult as changing out a wheel bearing seal. The output shaft makes it a little entertaining but not a bear to do. I have a cored out 2X4 block for this job. gets it seated with less cursing. ;Sweet

thanks towcat- until I get it fixed what type of fluid does the transfer case take??
