Well the problem has fixed itself for now. I finally pushed the trans to the no-no-zone haha. On prowl for a manual (and still a steering shaft) as well haha

x2. few of my friends have 3" BLs with no issues. some needed the extension shaft some didnt.
my point exactly.
that's why I don't want any part with that gamble.
you go from directing where you want the front end to go to being along for the ride with a front row seat.

ORdered the shaft today.

I also am expecting another kind of shaft in the form of the bill from the plumber.

On the prowl for a ZF now. Apparently they're like Unicorns around here

!@@$%#$

But now I am deep enough into this truck (my plan all along) where it's my baby and I am (when there's time) going to be making it right and fun

Flush the hell out of that cooler before you put it on another trans...

Can some one please tell me what years had the extremely short shaft, I remember reading on here that certain years were too short almost for a stock height truck.

I found a donor truck with one. Truck runs, he wants $600 for whole rig (he doesn't realize I am want to use it for parts). I'd like to spend significantly less for just a trans. But if that's not possible then I might have to stable this project til Spring

Take the stick...:sly from the other truck along with the pedal assembly and part out the rest. Does it have a good core support? I would buy it if you get the truck.
